An archive of chemical industry documents.
An online version of the archives, defined chemicals,Industry,is available.
The database was created in 2016 by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
The chemical industry has a long history of using government data for propaganda purposes.
For example, in 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to declassify the National Archive of Chemical Industry documents from the 1960s.
In 2016, the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation released their own versions of the chemical industry’s official documents.
As the archive’s creators noted in a press release, “The goal of the National Chemical Industry Archive is to preserve and document these important documents and to facilitate further research and discussion by scientists and researchers in the chemical industries.”
